Using Up Ripe Bananas

Four Recipes Using Ripe Bananas

by Rachel Paxton

Description: Easy recipes for using up ripe bananas, including how to freeze ripe bananas for later use.

Everyone ends up with ripe bananas they don’t know what to do with. I am ashamed to admit I have thrown many over ripe bananas away because I didn’t know what to do with them. Did you know you can freeze bananas? They actually freeze very well. You can either freeze them whole, thawing them out before you use them, or you can mash them and then freeze them. If you are going to mash them first add a little lemon juice or fruit preservative to them before you freeze them to preserve their color or they will turn brown. Freeze the mashed bananas in freezer containers for later use in your favorite recipes.
