Why We Need Stupid People
Stupid people are important. They are important to our economy, religion, economy/businesses, the local community. They are particularly important to politics, local government, state government and very, very important to national government. Without stupid people we would all be screwed. They buy into stupid ideas, schemes, ideologies, political parties. They befriend other stupids and help them along. Quite frankly it is the stupid people that are the bull work of our very existence. The most important thing stupids do is make it easy for the smart people to make money. Here is a list of things that require the undivided commitment of stupid people:
1. Religion – Where would some of our religions be if it weren’t for stupid people. Take Evangelical-type religions. Evangelical-type religions cannot survive without stupid people. Their leaders tell them, “send us your money, even if you are poor and in debt, and your monetary commitment will be returned to you ten-fold”. “Blessed is the poor”. Man that’s a good one. Send them your money, even if you are poor and you are blessed. Better yet, if you’re stupid and rich, send us your money and become poor and you will really be blessed. These religions tell stupids that they are partners in Christ…. just not partners in the money they collect. That’s theirs.
2. Ponzi Schemes – “We know someone who manages our money and guarantees us a 10% return on our money, year in and year out”. Stupids love ponzi schemes. Quite frankly there just aren’t enough ponzi schemes to go around to meet the demand of stupid people.
3. Politics/Government – Politicians are so lucky to have stupid people. They may be the biggest beneficiaries of stupid people. They tell stupids that government can and should be doing everything for them. They tell the stupids that they will provide for them in retirement (Social Security), take care of their medical needs when they get old and sickly (Medicare/Medicaid), when you lose a job, don’t worry about it, we’ll help you out until you get a job, no matter how long it may take (unemployment) And now they are telling the stupids they will manage all of their health care needs (nationalized health care). Stupid people are a downright necessity for politicians. All you have to do is trust us and let us manage your entire life and you’ll be better off. We can do everything, they tell them. The best part is this; when there isn’t enough money to pay for all of the things the politicians/government promised the stupids, they just raise taxes on the smart people (the one’s who make all the money). It’s really ingenious.
4. Economy/Businesses – Every business relies on stupid people to buy their stupid unnecessary products. Does anyone remember pet rocks. That was a great product for stupids. Most of the stupid products wind up in our landfills. Home owners insurance is another great stupid product. Hardly anyone ever has to use that insurance. Maybe 1 in 10,000 actually have any real need for it. Where would warranties be if it weren’t for the stupids. You’re a stupid and you’ve just finished buying a product and the company tells you to buy a warranty just in case the product is defective in some way. Let’s dissect this for a second. The product you just bought may be defective so buy insurance to protect against the defect. Whatever smart person came up with that one for the stupids should receive an award or something.
